The Winterbourne is owned by the local community and after being extensively refurbished in 2018 has built a strong reputation as a destination pub with ratings of 4.5+/5.0 on TripAdvisor, Google and Facebook. The current tenants are moving on to a new challenge at the end of March 2022 so the community owners are seeking a new tenant that will continue to serve good food and drinks while also embracing the ‘Pub is the Hub’ community spirit.

The pub is perfectly situated on the main road through Winterbourne Bassett village, within sight of the main A4361. Winterbourne Bassett is a delightful, sought after village, which is approximately 10-15 minutes’ drive from Marlborough, Swindon and the M4. The ancient stone circle at Avebury is 10 minutes away with considerable year-round tourist traffic, the pub also enjoys views of the White Horse at Hackpen Hill and the Marlborough Downs.

This large, detached building has three connected trading areas seating a total of 30-50 dining covers depending on table spacing, as well as space to mingle around the bar.  In the snug area there is a drop-down screen, projector and Apple TV for sporting events and film nights plus a darts board for the local team.  The conservatory area is a flexible space that is currently converted to a coffee shop.  The main bar area has cosy bay windows for the tables and a wood burning stove.  

Outside, there is a generous pub garden, community playground, parking for over 20 vehicles and an electric vehicle charging point for customers. The catering kitchen was completely refurbished in 2018 with modern electrical appliances throughout and there is a separate wash up and storage room, plus chilled cellar. For the tenants or manager there is a spacious flat above with three large bedrooms, kitchen, lounge and two bathrooms plus a private garden area fenced off to the rear.

The community is continually investing in further improvements to the property to ensure its success.
